TYLER, TX (KLTV) - A strong cold front is inching its way across the area today.
As the front moves through, winds will turn out of the north bringing in much cooler air causing afternoon temperatures across the area only to be in the middle to upper 50s.
At the same time an upper air disturbance will move across the area allowing for showers, and maybe even a thundershower, to develop across the area.
This same system brought rain and snow to the Panhandle this morning. Parts of the Amarillo area received 1 to 3 inches of snow this morning with temperatures in the lower 30s. Now the snow will not make it into East Texas today but the moistures from this system will move across the area this afternoon.
Most areas of East Texas should receive between a quarter and a half inch of rain with locally heavier amounts possible. This system will move out of the area by tomorrow morning setting the stage for a fantastic weekend.
