CAMDEN, SC (WIS) - Kershaw County deputies on Saturday arrested a man who was passed out in his car on Interstate 20 with a five-year-old in the car, according to the sheriff.

Sheriff Jim Matthews said deputies found Bryan Oneal Jackson, 43, passed out behind the wheel of a car pulled well off the side of the road near exit 101. The car was still in drive and the engine was running, according to Matthews, and a five-year-old girl was also in the car.

Deputies secured the vehicle and called for EMS. Matthews said Jackson failed a field sobriety test, and failed a breathalyzer test with a blood alcohol content level of .17.

"Driving while intoxicated is in and of itself irresponsible," said Matthews. "Having a little girl in the vehicle, who had no choice in being there, takes irresponsibility to a new level."

Jackson was arrested for DUI and child endangerment, and was released from the Kershaw County Detention Center on $2,712 bond. Deputies released the girl to her grandmother.
