Couple in Their 90s Looks at New Year's Differently

Many people look at a new year as a time to make resolutions, start new things, or set new goals. But for one East Texas couple who are in their 90's, they look at new years a little differently. Jack and Rose Cade of Chandler just celebrated their 74th anniversary and the birth of their first great-grandbaby. Their family owns about 3,000 acres of land on the Cades Cove Camp Grounds around Lake Cade. The couple says they're looking at the new year with a lot of thanks and a little humor about what they want to accomplish.

"At our age, that we thank God for what he's done for us," Jack Cade said. "And we think that He's kept us here for some reason."

"Well, actually, I plan to stay alive, if possible," Rose Cade said.

The Cades say their New Year's resolution is to try to be better people.
