Longview hosts downs syndrome buddy walk

LONGVIEW,TX (KLTV)- In recognition of October being national downs syndrome awareness month, east Texans gathered in a show of support in Longview. It was the tenth annual 'buddy walk' , at Longview's Teague park. A day of family fun that highlights awareness and acceptance of all people with down syndrome. The one-mile walk through the park and Nugget Hill neighborhood featured over 600 walkers, many who were sponsored by company's to participate. The focus each year is to bring awareness , and raise money for research into downs syndrome. Organizers hope to raise around 45-thousand dollars with today's buddy walk.
