Teen accused of carrying gun inside gov't building back in court

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The East Texas teen that pleaded guilty to the charge of carrying a gun inside a government building is back in court today.

After a 30 day continuance was granted last month, all parties are back in a Tyler courtroom this morning.

Judge Russell swore in two witnesses Friday morning: Mrs. Harrison, Corey's mother, and Mrs. Gloria Webb.

Webb's mother told the court that she feels her son has some mental illness, that he began to "shell up" after his uncle's death. "He has become quite and unlike the kid the family knew him to be," Mrs. Harrison said. She also said, "all I am asking for is help for my son."

We will have the outcome of the hearing later today, when all the proceeding have ended.
