DETEC worker electrocuted in Nacogdoches Co.

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A worker for Deep East Texas Electric Cooperative died Tuesday afternoon after being electrocuted while working on a line between Garrison and Nacogdoches.

Aaron Sullender, 21, of Broaddus, is survived by a wife and two young boys.

According to Larry Warren, the DETEC manager, Sullender was working on the line on County Road 1362, following Tuesday's storm when he came in contact with a high-voltage line and was electrocuted around 2:30 p.m. He died later at a Nacogdoches hospital.

Warren said Sullender had worked for the coop for two years. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.

According to his Facebook page, Sullender graduated from Zavalla High School in 2008.
