No injuries in Lufkin Industries fire

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A small fire in the heat treat facility at Lufkin Industries cause an employee evacuation, but nobody was injured.

According to company Vice President Brian Giffords, the fire started in an oil vat. Employees took immediate action, sounding the alarm and evacuating the facility.

Lufkin firefighters responded within 20 minutes and finished putting out the fire, Giffords said.

The building suffered minor damage and officials are investigating what started the fire, Giffords said.
