Four Students Killed in Gregg County Accident

Four college students are dead after an accident on I-20 yesterday in Gregg County. It happened Thursday evening one mile east of Highway 135 near Liberty City, as four University of North Texas students were returning from a bowl game in New Orleans.

The accident had traffic at a stand still for 3 hours. D.P.S. troopers say the tan four door Toyota traveling in the west bound lane of I-20, lost control, crossed the median and hit a "gooseneck trailer" carrying heavy equipment head-on. The 4 passengers in the Toyota were pronounced dead at the scene.

20 year old Benjamin Lee of Garland, 18 year-old Rebecca Faires of Decatur, 19 year-old Stephanie Kehr of Garland, and 20 year-old Evan Bellsley of Richardson were all killed.
