UPDATE: Missing ETX man has been found

UPDATE 10:35 AM: According to Hopkins County authorities, Rodney Porter was found at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville. It is not clear why he was at the hospital.

UPDATE 7:42 AM Tuesday, Hopkins County authorities have stopped the organized search for Rodney Porter and have issued a Region I Alert. The family told Hopkins County deputies that although he told a motorist that gave him a ride to Cumby that he needed to get to Greenville, he apparently knows nobody in Greenville. The family thinks he may be trying to get to Grand Prairie.

HOPKINS COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Deputies and volunteer firefighters are searching for a mentally-disabled man missing for several hours.

Forty-one-year-old Rodney Porter was last seen at his home on FM 71, in the North Hopkins-Peerless community, around 4:30 Monday afternoon.

Officials say Porter has the mentally capacity of an eight-year-old.

Rodney Porter is 5'2" and weighs 180lbs.

He has blonde hair, blue eyes and light facial hair. Deputies say Porter was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, cargo pants and tennis shoes.
