ETX woman drives car into nearby pond

FRANKLIN COUNTY, TX (KLTV) – The Franklin County Sheriff's Office confirms a woman drove her family's vehicle into a nearby pond Monday afternoon.

According to Sheriff Paul Fletcher, the woman was in the process of moving out of her parents' house when she became angry with them.  She then got into one of her parent's vehicles and drove it through a barbed wire fence and into a nearby pond.

The sheriff says about four inches of the vehicle could be seen sticking out of the pond when he arrived. Two volunteer fire departments, EMS as well as the Franklin County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the scene around 1 p.m.

Sheriff Fletcher says the woman was pulled from the vehicle with no major injuries. She was transported to the hospital for precautionary reasons.
