Overturned salt truck causing delays on 110 Van Hwy

Update: According to the truck driver and a witness in a nearby house, the car which ran the stop sign, causing the truck to overturn, was a large white SUV.

The SUV fled the scene, and authorities are searching for it at this time.  There were no injuries.

The driver was hauling salt for Morton salt and was heading to Marshall when the accident occurred.

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - An accident involving a truck carrying a load of salt is creating some traffic tie-ups this afternoon.

According to DPS, a car ran a stop sign on Hwy 110 N. at FM 1253 north of the interstate.

A salt truck had to take evasive action to keep from hitting the car and flipped over on its side.

The truck lost part of its load of salt. Clean up crews along with other emergency agencies are on the scene.

Traffic in the area will be slow going for the next three to four hours while clean up is ongoing.

Use alternate routes to avoid delays.
