This rain is what is left from some severe storms that hit parts of northwest Texas overnight.

As these storms move through you can expect heavier down pours along with gusty winds, maybe as high as 40 mph.  The overall trend for these storms will be to weaken as they continue to move east around 40 mph.

Later on this afternoon a cool front will move into the area giving us another chance at some scattered showers and storms.  The storm Prediction Center has most of East Texas under a slight risk of severe weather today with the main threats being wind gusts to 60 mph and hail the size of quarters.

The best chance of seeing rain today will be along and north of I-20 will chances becoming much smaller as you head towards Lufkin.
