FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP, BUTLER COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - According to Fairfield Twp police, a boy who claimed he was attacked this morning made the whole thing up.

Initial reports from Christian Boggs, an 8th grader from Fairfield Middle School, state that he was on his way to the school bus stop at the intersection of Imlay and Pater Avenue when a man came up behind him and held a knife to his throat. Boggs told FOX19 that he struggled with the guy and when he pulled away from the man the knife cut his throat.

Fairfield Police say that he in fact cut himself.

Christian initially told police that the suspect demanded money and the man fled. After the "attack" Boggs ran home. His father came out of the house to look for the person who he thought cut his child.

Boggs was taken to the hospital to get stitches, but is now back home. He plans to go to school Tuesday. Christian Boggs spoke to FOX19 Monday morning before his story changed.
