ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - A Zavalla man has pleaded guilty to impersonating an Angelina County Sheriff's Office deputy.
Justin McDonald, 19, accepted a four-year probation sentence on a charge of impersonating an officer.
According to a previous report, McDonald used red and blue emergency lights to conduct a traffic stop off a farm road near Zavalla in February. He then approached the driver and identified himself as a sheriff's deputy.
The woman in the vehicle recognized McDonald and knew that he was not an officer and filed a complaint.
McDonald also pleaded guilty to an unrelated charge of assault and accepted a two-year probation sentence.
