LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - A Longview student died from injuries sustained in a fall Wednesday evening.

According to Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace B.H. Jameson, 10-year-old Jamaal Jones and his mother were at his grandma's house on Harvard Street when the accident happened.

Just before 7:00 pm, Jamaal was running on the sidewalk with a group of others when he fell and appears to have hit several objects, including the porch, a barbecue pit and the front door as he fell.

Jamaal was transported to a Longview hospital where he died at 7:41 pm.

The preliminary autopsy report on Jamaal has been released, but the exact cause of death is still undetermined pending histology and toxicology tests.

However, the report said there were no signs of notable trauma or foul play.
