TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The bravest men in the country were in Tyler on Monday.
The 4th Annual Wounded Warrior Golf Tournament was held at Willowbrook Country Club with more than 30 servicemen, all wounded, in attendance.
"So we're always honored to come here and it's great to be welcomed from people who are old enough to remember WWII down to 7 year old kids we've been in contact with," said Dale Beatty, an Army vet, who lost both legs in an attack in Iraq back in 2004.
Funds raised by the tournament go directly to the "Hope for the Warriors Foundation," designed to help wounded combat veterans get reacclimated to civilian life.
In the Lone Star State, one of the best organizations, is in East Texas.
"They're provided an example out of Tyler, Texas that the rest of the country needs to emulate," said Beatty.
"Everybody has a strong sense of patriotism and dedication to our cause."
