Cocaine and Meth discovered during search in Rusk Co.

On Thursday, September 29, 2011, at approximately 11:00pm, the Rusk County Sheriff's Office Tactical Unit along with the Henderson Police Department Tactical Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of Victor Alejandro Luna, at 113 Cross Park, just outside Henderson, in Rusk County.  

The search warrant was issued due to an investigation conducted by Rusk County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division and the FBI, HIDTA Office, in Tyler. During the search officers recovered approximately 22 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of methamphetamine, and a firearm.  The street value of the drugs is approximately $3,000.00.  

Victor Alejandro Luna, 21 years old, of Henderson, was arrested at the scene and charged with 2 counts of Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Luna was escorted to the Rusk County Jail. 

On Friday, September 30, 2011, Justice of the Peace, Precinct 5, Judge Joe H. Sorrells charged Victor Alejandro Luna with two (2) counts of Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, 1st degree felonies, and bond was set at $500,000.00 each, for a total of $1,000,000.00.  Luna remains in the Rusk County Jail. 

Back on April 18, 2011, Luna was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault w/ a Deadly Weapon, 2nd Degree Felony, for the shooting which occurred in the Kroger's parking lot, located in Henderson.  Luna had a cash bond set at $10,000, and was later released after he posted that bond.

Sheriff Danny R. Pirtle states this search warrant was successful due to all agencies working together. The FBI, HIDTA Office in Tyler, and our Narcotics Division worked this investigation as a team with a positive result. With the professionally trained officers of the Rusk County Sheriff's Office Tactical Unit, Henderson Police Department Tactical Unit, and Texas Department of Public safety working together enhances officer and public safety. We appreciate the FBI, HIDTA Office, Henderson Police Department Tactical Unit and Texas Department of Public Safety working diligently with our team to help keep these drug dealers out of our community.
