LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - The Longview Independent School District is still investigating allegations of misconduct that caused one of its teachers to resign Monday morning.
Josue A. Diaz, a Longview High School English teacher and district UIL coordinator, brought a resignation letter to headquarters. It read, in part, "This decision was a difficult one. This resignation is not an admittance of guilt."
Mr. Diaz had just started his third year at Longview High School.
District spokesman Adam J. Holland said students at Longview High School have not been and are not in danger.
"What I would say to parents who feel like their children are in danger, my own child is a student at Longview High School. I don't have that concern," Holland said. "We always err on the side of caution for the children, and whether it's kindergarten, whether it's 18 year-old seniors, the safety of our children is paramount."
No criminal charges have been filed in this investigation.
