Black bean burger from Smashburger


Black Beans 27 oz

Chopped Red Onions 1 oz

Minced Fresh Jalapenos 1/4 oz

Cholula Hot Sauce 1 oz

Chopped Fresh Cilantro 1/8 oz

Eggs 1

Grated Cheddar Cheese 1 oz

Ground Cumin 1/8 oz

Garlic Seasoning 1/8 oz

Crushed Blue Corn Tortilla Chips 2 oz

Crushed Cheese and Garlic Croutons 4.5 oz


Drain black beans. Do not rinse. Add to mixing bowl. Then add remaining ingredients to mixing bowl. The chips and croutons need to be finely crushed before adding. Once all items are in the bowl, mix with gloved hands until it is a solid mass with beans visible throughout. Portion into 5.3 oz burger balls.

Should make 5 to 6. Then place in Refrigerator for at least on hour.

This will allow moisture accumulation. Once this is done mash each ball on a skillet or flat top grill to desired thickness. Cook for one minute thirty seconds on first side then flip and cook for another minute adding cheese if desired after flip.
