ETX State Fair opens

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Have you been missing caramel apples, turkey legs and funnel cakes? The 96th annual East Texas State Fair is back again, bringing with it some of your favorites along with some new treats.

There's live music, games, rides and of course, the infamous fair food. This year, the fair is offering an exotic petting zoo where kids can hop on a camel and go for a ride. There is also a 75-ton sand masterpiece on display. If you make it out to the fair this year, don't miss the Swifty Swine Racing Pigs! Kids can gather around the race track and cheer on their favorite pig as it races for an Oreo cookie.

The fair runs September 22-October 2. Gates open at 10 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults over the age of 12, $5 dollars for kids ages 6-12 and free for those 5 and under.
