The 6th annual Festival of Trees has announced the winners of its Christmas tree contest. Earlier today, a few KLTV personalities judged about 20 trees on display at the Atria Briarcliff Village Retirement Home. Winners were chosen in three categories. The Pinehurst Alzheimer Special Care Center won first place in the commercial businesses category, with its Texas-themed Christmas tree. In the nonprofit category, The Salvation Army "Angel Tree" took first place. And the Good Shepherd Reformed Episcopal School's pre-K class won first among the entries from area schools.
You can see all the trees on display today through Dec. 14. Tickets are $4 for adults, $2 for children. Proceeds benefit The Humane Society of Smith County and The Salvation Army in Tyler.
