HOPKINS COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A routine traffic stop on an East Texas highway nets a large amount of Meth.
Just after 8:00 pm, Tuesday, A DPS trooper stopped a pick-up truck for a traffic violation on interstate 30 in Hopkins County.
While speaking with the driver, 35-year-old Jose Zenen Lopez, the trooper noticed signs of criminal activity and requested consent to search the truck.
The DPS canine alerted the trooper to three vacuumed packed bundles located inside the tailgate. The bundles revealed 3.2 pounds of Methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $120,000.
Lopez was arrested without incident and taken to Hopkins County Jail. He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
