TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Smoke over the city of Tyler caused a flurry of phone calls to 9-1-1 and to the KLTV 7 Newsroom.

The plume's source was from the Delek Refinery on the northeast side of Tyler. Operators at the refinery said the sight was just burn off.

The smoke and flames caused such a concern not only because of the recent wildfires in East Texas but also because of previous incidents at that plant.

In November 2008, an explosion at the Delek facility killed two men. The plant was later fined more than $217,000 in fines from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
