The final episode for All My Children (AMC) will air this week. The popular ABC soap opera can be seen on KLTV-TV weekdays at noon, repeat episodes air weeknights on SOAPnet.
AMC came on the scene January 5, 1970. The show was created by Agnes Nixon featuring Susan Lucci as Erica Kane, one of daytime TV's most popular personalities. Its original owner was Creative Horizons, Inc., the show was sold to ABC in January 1975. ABC expanded its length from a half-hour to an hour on April 25, 1977.

ABC will replace All My Children with a new talk show called The Chew, centering on food-related and lifestyle topics. The Chew is set to premiere on September 26, hosted by Iron Chef America's Mario Batali and Michael Symon, Top Chef's Carla Hall, What Not to Wear's Clinton Kelly and Dr. Oz's daughter, author and nutritionist Daphane Oz.
