Representative Tommy Merritt To Run For State Senate

State representative Tommy Merritt hasn't officially thrown his hat into the ring, but says he's planning to run for the Texas Senate.

Merritt wants to fill the seat left by republican Bill Ratliff when he retires in January. Former Tyler mayor, Kevin Eltife and former state Senator Richard Anderson of Marshall have also announced their candidacy.
