Local Woman Starts Non-Profit Charity

An east Texas woman has started a non-profit organization that's gone international in just two months. It started when Dianne Webb watched news reports about the California wildfires in October.

Dianne wanted to do something to help the children displaced by the fires, so she decided to make gift backs stuffed with books, crayons and teddy bears. The organization is called "Comfort Express."

Dianne says they will continue to make bags to help children who are affected by disasters in the future. "I know there are many organizations and lots of people that will help with food and housing and clothing but my heart just told me that maybe we could bring comfort, more comfort to the youngest ones affected by this.  "Comfort express" volunteers still need disposable diapers, diaper wipes and 24 count crayons. You can drop off donations at the china pearl on the west loop in Longview.
