It's a common scam that has found another victim in East Texas -- this time, a 75-year-old Tyler man.
Tyler Police call it a "Pigeon Drop Scam" and say it works like this: the scammer says he has just inherited a large amount of money, and doesn't trust banks.
The victim is then talked into withdrawing several thousand dollars that is exchanged for the crook's cash. The victim, though, is left with a just a bundle of play money.
Police say this time, the scammer was a black male in his 60s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, and he may have been working with 2 other men. They left in a white Dodge sedan.
