LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A federal judge has granted a continuance in a meth conspiracy case against 13 Angelina County residents. The same judge also denied a continuance in a separate case against five Angelina County residents.

In USA vs. Loving et al, Judge Ron Clark granted the request of Lyndsey Denise Miller, 21, of Lufkin, to delay an October 12 trial. Miller's attorney, Joel Vazquez, made the request on September 13. Vazquez listed being able to go to a law course, to allow time to investigate the case and to allow time to prepare for the trial if a plea agreement cannot be reached.

Because the judge granted the motion for Miller, the case is also delayed for her 12 co-defendants.

Miller and 12 others are accused of buying pseudeophedrine from various stores in East Texas to make meth.

In Clark's order, the judge stated that one of the co-defendants, Terry Lee Loving, 25, of Lufkin, has not yet appeared in court. He is scheduled for an initial appearance on October 3.

The case is now set for jury selection and trial on November 14. Any motions for continuance will have to be filed by October 24.

In USA vs. Dunman et al, Clark denied the request of Crystal Leann Keisler, 22, of Lufkin, to delay the October 12 trial of her and three co-defendants, despite federal prosecutors not objecting to the motion. Keisler's attorney, Russell Wright, asked for the continuance in order to prepare for a trial and to negotiate a plea deal.

Clark denied the motion, stating he could not find sufficient evidence to warrant a second continuance.

A deadline on plea agreements for the case is set for September 26.

Keisler, David Arthur Dunman, 52, of Lufkin, Deana Sunshine Turner, 35, of Lufkin, and Jennifer Jon Holliday, 33, of Diboll, are named in an indictment alleging similar activity to cook meth.

Below are the defendants in the 13-member indictment:
