ETX traffic stop nets nearly $650K of cocaine

SULPHUR SPRINGS, TX (KLTV) - A large amount of cocaine was seized by a DPS trooper during a routine traffic stop and two women have been arrested.

Just before 2:00 pm Wednesday, a DPS trooper stopped a 2002 Explorer on I-30 near Sulphur Springs for a traffic violation.

After speaking with the driver, Reyna A. Galindo,41, the trooper noticed Reyna was showing signs of nervousness and other criminal indicators.  At that time the trooper requested consent to search the vehicle, which was granted.

The search of the vehicle turned up ten bundles of Cocaine in hidden compartments in the amount of 10kg, with an estimated street value of $649,175.

Reyna A Galindo and the passenger of the vehicle, Armandina L. Patino,47, both of San Antonio, were arrested without incident and booked into the Hopkins County Jail.

They were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
