LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A district judge has sentenced a Lufkin man to a 35-year and 20-year prison sentence for on separate meth charges.

Gilmore F. Cox, 52, pleaded guilty in August on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of transport chemicals with intent to manufacture. He did so without a plea bargain.

Judge Barry Bryan handed down the sentence on Wednesday.

The Angelina County Sheriff's Office caught Cox getting high on meth on June 3, 2010, while serving a warrant on another person. When they came to the house on U.S. 59 North, Cox was there high on meth.

The second charge was filed on Cox for a July 27, 2010, offense.
