Truck driver dies in rollover, causes wildfire in E. Texas

TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - An 18-wheeler rollover wreck in Trinity County has killed a person and started a wildfire.

Constable Woody Wallace said the truck driver lost control on FM 355, two miles east of Cheatham, and flipped the rig. The truck burst into flames and started a forest fire.

Wallace said firefighters estimate the fire to have covered 100 acres.

Information on the victim is not yet available.

Wallace said there have been no evacuations, as there are not many homes in the area. FM 355 is closed as DPS are working the scene of the wreck.
