The Backup Plan

CHAPEL HILL, TX (KLTV) - The #1 ranked Chapel Hill Bulldogs are on a mission, get back, and win the state championship game.

But their road back to Cowboys Stadium has hit a speed bump.

Returning All-State quarterback Avery Saenz is out indefinitly with a broken ankle, suffered during the 1st half of Chapel Hill's 21-20 win over Carthage on Friday.

That means Anthonly Kincade will now run one of the best offenses in the state.

"It's no pressure. If you think about pressure you mess up. I'm going in with the mentality that I can do it," said Kincade, "As a receiver I want the ball every play. Now I get the ball every play to make plays. It's going to be fun."

Head coach Thomas Sitton said Saenz could be back by the end of the regular season.

Until then, it is Kincade's show to run.

"It's just part of it. Football's a rough sport. It's going to happen sometime," said Sitton, "You've just got to keep playing and the next guys going to step up and do the best job he can do for our football team."

The new look Bulldog offense will be tested immediately as 4A Hallsville will visit Chapel Hill on Friday.
