E. Texan dies in head-on collision

MARION COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A weekend head-on collision claims the life of an Avinger man.

According to authorities, just before 5:00 pm Sunday, Bruce Wade White, 43, of Avinger was traveling westbound on FM 729, when his vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic, striking a Ford Excursion, driven by 46-year-old Richard Brent Gustafson of Jefferson.

Bruce White was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:30 pm by JP Nutt.

Mr. Gustafson was transported to a Marshall hospital. He is currently in stable condition with a broken ankle and head injury.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
