Former Tyler mayor Norman Shtofman died this morning at a Tyler hospital. He served as mayor from 1982 to 1984 and served three terms on the Tyler City Council. Before his run for mayor, Norman joined his father's shoe company, The Shtofman Company, and later became its chairman and CEO. He retired a few months ago after a 54 year career. Norman also served as president, chairman and director of several East Texas non-profit organizations.
A graveside service for Norman Shtofman will be 3:30 in Rose Hill Cemetery Sunday. A memorial will follow at 4:30 at Lloyd James Funeral home.
Norman Shtofman was 75 years old.
