TYLER, TEXAS – Habitat for Humanity of Smith County announces "Home for the Holidays," a unique event involving churches, businesses, Habitat for Humanity and KLTV. On Saturday, September 10, beginning at 7:30 a.m. volunteers from Glenwood Church of Christ and Shiloh Road Church of Christ will raise the walls on a new home. The house is the fourth Habitat home to be built on Glenwood at Connally Street in Tyler.
"Home for the Holidays" is sponsored by Glenwood Church of Christ, Shiloh Road Church of Christ, KLTV, and area businesses including Barrett Appliance, Fitzpatrick Architects and Home Plus Floors. The construction of the home will be streamed online on KLTV.COM as well as covered by KLTV's news team. Weather permitting, the home should be completed in late November.
"Home for the Holidays" will not only make it possible for a Habitat partner family to purchase the home and move in during the holiday season, the house will also mark the completion of Habitat's subdivision on Glenwood. Construction on the first home began in March. The last home in the subdivision is the 94th home built by Smith County Habitat since the organization was founded in 1989.
