LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Angelina County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Huntington man accused of trying to get meth to an inmate in the county jail.

Richard Allen Gee, 50, of Huntington, is charged with delivery of controlled substance.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the investigation began on August 26 when a man brought a pill bottle to the jail and asked an officer to give the "medication" to an inmate, Kimberly Womack.

The officer took the bottle and noticed there were no pills in it, just coffee filters and a strong odor coming from them.

A deputy spoke to Womack and asked who dropped the medication off and she said it was Gee.

The bottle was tested positive for meth. The officer confirmed with a mug shot that it was Gee who brought the bottle, according to the report.

Gee was booked into the jail on Thursday on the drug charge and three outstanding warrants. He is being held without a set bail, as of 4 p.m. Friday.
