Officials responding to fire off 294 and FM 225 in Anderson Co.

ANDERSON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - TxDOT is responding to the fire in Anderson County off of 294 and FM 225.

Larry Krantz from TxDot tells us they have been requested to provide fuel, equipment, a water trailer and personnel to the fire in Southeast Anderson County. Krantz says this is not standard, but it has become necessary for TxDOT to step in and help.

New Chapel Church Forest Service says it is between 2,500 to 3,000 acres and is 40 percent contained.

KLTV has a reporter at the scene who will continue to provide us with updates as they become available.
