Longview Walk-a-thon for Batten's Patient

A little boy who has captured the hearts of people in Longview had more than a hundred people putting their best foot forward today. It was the first annual walk-a-thon at Lobo Stadium benefiting the family of 5 year old Joshua Spencer.

Joshua was diagnosed with Batten's Disease.  There is no treatment and no cure, and is always fatal. For many walkers it was a chance to help a little boy who has so much to live for... and who's story touched their lives.

The walkers raised $5,350 through their efforts today. A bass fishing fundraiser is set to begin at 5:30 Sunday morning at Cedar Springs at Lake O' the Pines.

Bob Hallmark reporting.
