Gift of Love: James

It was an afternoon for fun and games as James and I made our way through Chuck E. Cheese. James is very playful and energetic. He enjoys being outside and likes all types of cars and trucks.

As a typical 10 year old, James also likes to play his fair share of, "play video games. what else? buy pokemon cards, go fishing and swimming," James said.

James is in the 5th grade. When James first came into care four years ago, he was very behind in school because he had not attended regularly for nearly a year. However, he has been working hard to catch up. James has been learning in a self contained classroom and received mostly A's on his final report card.

P. E. is my favorite and math is my least favorite.

Looking ahead to his future, James knows exactly where he wants to be.

"I want to be in the army," James said.

"So I can keep the country safe," James said.

When it comes to dinner time, James says he likes the basics.

"Chicken, macaroni and cheese, hamburgers, ribs, hot dogs," James said.

James told me he hopes to be adopted by a family with dogs. He also has some other wishes.

"I would wish for a thousand wishes. I would wish for a new DS game and I would wish for a million bucks," James said.

James has two brothers, the oldest is still in care while the younger brother has been adopted. James would like to have contact with his brothers once he finds his forever family. Speaking of his family, James wants to take lots of field trips.

"I want to go swimming and fishing with the family. And I want to go out to places like McDonalds, Sonic and Chuck E. Cheese. to go out every once in awhile if I've been good and for my birthday,"James said.

He also really wants to go to the beach! Now all James needs is a forever family to join him for some fun in the sun and show James the gift of love.
