Officials release identity in 18-wheeler head-on

ANDERSON COUNTY, TEXAS (KLTV) - A woman is dead after a crash involving an SUV and an 18-wheeler on Highway 79, one mile west of Palestine.

Authorities say a 2011 Jeep Compass, driven by Cheryl Diane Welch of Palestine, crossed into oncoming traffic, hitting a 2008 Peterbilt tractor trailer head-on.

Welch, 49, died on the scene.
