ANDERSON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Authorities say a man who was angry about being told how to do his job jabbed his co-worker several times with a chainsaw.

It happened Tuesday afternoon in the 1200 block of County Road 493 on a Cayuga ranch.

Authorities say Espinal Linder, 45, of Houston lunged at his 25-year-old co-worker with the chainsaw after the man instructed him how to cut tree limbs.

"The man told me some of his workers were fighting and one of them started chasing one of the other guys with a chainsaw," said Luis Duran, interpreted for authorities.

Fortunately the victim only suffered minor cuts to his hand and stomach.

"When I heard about what happened I freaked out I thought oh no someone killed a guy with a chainsaw, or cut off his arms or something it really freaked me out," said Duran.

Duran says he was on his way home when he was flagged down by deputies who know him and asked if he could translate.

"You know using weapons are not as common fortunately, but fights are very common in the heat and in the day," said Sheriff Greg Taylor, Anderson County.

Linder is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He's being held in the Anderson County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
