Grandfather of murdered toddler says alleged motive is 'sick'

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Police say an East Texas man killed his two-year-old daughter after she apparently interrupted his nap.

Dramon Rashon Green, 20, who's also known as "Mon" is charged with capital murder.

The toddler's grandfather says he's been trying to get in contact with his daughter since the murder.

Police say A'yanna Webb and her twin sister were playing in the family's apartment when apparently they awoke their father from a nap. According to authorities, one twin was put in time out, while Dramon took A'yanna outside and beat her.

"I'm really pissed off about it," said Jeff Webb, A'yanna's grandfather. "I hope they give him the death penalty I really do.

He says he's been trying to contact his daughter since Saturday night, but hasn't had any luck. He also says his daughter became distant when she began dating Mon.

"It just makes me sick. I just want to see my daughter and I want to see if she's alright and I hope he gets what he deserves," said Webb.

"I've seen a lot of investigators and officers come through here and they were parking right here," said Sarah Merritt.

Neighbor Sarah Merritt says she went to school with Mon, but had no idea he was charged with his daughter's death until now. She says she watched as police questioned him the night it happened.

"He was walking up and down the sidewalk and I figured everything was okay. I didn't think that it was you know a problem. I thought someone had just broken into one of the apartment's or something," said Merritt.

A'yanna's grandfather says he only had the chance to meet her once. He hopes his daughter will come home to Austin to be with family during this very difficult time.

The other twin daughter is in the care of CPS. Dramon Green is also a twin, and we went by his twin brother's home today, but no one was there.  Green is being held on a $1 million bond.
