Middle school student hit in front of school

Update - August 23, 2011: According to John Moore with Trinity Mother Frances Hospital, Michael Grier was treated and released yesterday.

OVERTON, TX (KLTV) - Overton ISD confirms an 8th grader was hit by a car when walking home from school Monday afternoon.

Michael Grier was struck by a Ford Explorer in front of Overton Middle School around 3:30 p.m.

Superintendent, Alan Umholtz, tells us Grier was not badly injured. We're told the student has no broken bones, but was taken by helicopter as a precaution to a Tyler hospital.
