TYLER, TX (KLTV)- The Tyler Police Department is investigating a fight that broke out inside a convenience store.
It happened early Sunday morning in the 1100 block of W. Gentry Parkway at the Texaco gas station.
Tyler Police said 15 people went inside the convenience store around 2:30 A.M. shortly after the clubs closed.
Officials said only about two or three people were involved in the actual fight that took place.
Authorities were able to confirm at least one person was unconscious inside.
Tyler police said when officers arrived at the gas station the people scrambled and left the scene.
"It's not common that they'll occur inside a business, but these fights are somewhat common. You see some of these fights occur on school campuses where two or three start a fight and then everyone comes in to join the group and hoop and holler so this is kind of what occurred there," said Don Martin, Tyler Police Department, Public Information Officer.
Martin said the people who were fighting are not looking to file any charges on each other.
However, authorities are working with the Texaco owner who said his business suffered thousands of dollars worth of property damage.
Tyler police said criminal mischief charges could be filed due to the property damage. They said this was not the case of a flash mob.
Anyone with information about the suspects involved in this crime are urged to contact the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers, at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833). Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case, or any, felony case.
