Arson suspected in Bowie county fires

BOWIE COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Officials in one northeast Texas county are looking for a suspect in a string of house fires, being investigated now as arson.

There have been over a half dozen suspicious blazes in Bowie county from Simms, to Hooks and the most recent in Leary. The latest occurred while a family was asleep in their rental mobile home. Everybody made it out.

The Texas State Fire Marshal is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
