Dessert for two
½ cup of brown sugar
½ teaspoon cinnamon
1/3 stick of butter
1/8 cup dark rum
1/8 cup banana liqueur
Vanilla ice cream
Take your banana and cut in half and then cut the halves lengthwise.
In a medium skillet melt your butter over medium heat, be careful not to burn! Add your cinnamon and brown sugar and heat until the sugar dissolves stirring continuously. Then add your banana liqueur and heat for a minute or two.
Add your bananas to the mixture and heat until the bananas are tender, about two minutes. Next add your dark rum and mix thoroughly. Then use a lighter to flambé the sauce. Once the flame burns out the alcohol has cooked away and take off heat.
In a bowl scoop ice cream in the center and place four banana slices around the ice cream. Top with the rum sauce and enjoy.
To really kick it up, try substituting the butter and cinnamon with 3 tablespoons of honey cinnamon butter from Sweet Gourmet.
