SHELBY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A San Augustine woman is dead and two people are injured after a three-vehicle head-on crash in Shelby County.
Tedarrian LaMorgan Houston, 20, from San Augustine was driving a 2006 Ford truck southbound on US 96 when he crossed over into the northbound lane and struck two vehicles head-on, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety crash report.
Meng Chen, 37, from Monterrey Park, California was driving a 2009 Van and Priscilla Louis Sharpton, 29, from San Augustine was driving a 2007 Dodge Stratus both were traveling in the northbound lane on US 96 when they were struck.
Sharpton was taken to Shelby Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Next of kin has been notified.
Sharpton was not wearing a seatbelt.
Houston was taken to a Longview hospital where he is listed in stable condition. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Chen is listed in good condition. He suffered a broken elbow. He was wearing a seatbelt.
The wreck happened Thursday about 1.7 miles south of Center around 12:40 p.m.
Texas Department of Public Safety along with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office assisted with the investigation.
The wreck is still under investigation, no word if Houston will be cited for the wreck.
