More than 100 Veterans live in the Emerald Bay Community on Lake Palestine, and many of them showed up Tuesday to be honored with a new memorial. The Bullard High School band played "America The Beautiful" and Tyler John Tyler High Schools ROTC also helped out. The dedication of new American and Texas flags, as well as a bronze marker, had to be pushed inside due to the weather, but Veteran Tag Livingston says that didn't take away the meaning for him.
"Well it gives you a nice feeling inside that people have some appreciation for what the so called greatest generation did, but in retrospect I think we were just doing our duty: God and Country."
Livingston was among more than 200 people who attended the event.
