Rep. Leo Berman Seeks Re-Election

State Representative Leo Berman says he wants to keep representing East Texas in the state legislature. He announced today he will run for re-election for his fourth and last term. Berman says if voters elect him to another term, he'll work on lowering taxes and government bureaucracy.

"Next year we're going to be talking about worker's compensation reform, about telecommunications reform. We've got major issues to deal with. In addition, if the economy's doing well, we need to re-fund some of the agencies that we had to cut during the session to balance the budget," said Berman.

The primary election is in March, followed by the general election next November. The next legislative session begins in January 2005.
