ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man was arrested after he and a friend drove away from the scene of a burglary at a high speed, according to a police report.
Clinton Otis Hill, 20, is charged with burglary of a habitation.
In June, a house located on Evans Gann in Angelina County was burglarized. A Sheriff's deputy responded to the residence, and a white car pulled in to the driveway. Upon noticing the deputy, the car turned around and left at a high rate of speed, according to the report.
The deputy caught up to the vehicle, where Hill was a passenger.
The driver and Hill had told the deputy that they had come over to see a friend, according to the report.
Hill was arrested for an unrelated warrant, according to the report. He was arrested on the newest charge on Friday.
Just days before the burglary, Hill was allegedly connected to stealing a truck from a residence at Acadia Arms apartment complex in Lufkin.
The complainant stated that someone entered his truck and removed a speaker box and his CD player, according to a detective.
A friend of Hill's was arrested and confessed that he helped with stealing the property. The friend also stated that he was the one who drove Hill to the burglary at the residence a few days later, according to the report.
Hill was charged with burglary of a motor vehicle.
Hill posted a $4,000 bail bond on Friday.
